Yesterday was a big day for the 'Socks of Love' campaign. Not like everyday isn't, but yesterday was especially mammoth.
I visited three local businesses (all wonderful places, by the way.) and asked if they were interested in having donation jars in their storefronts. Thankfully, all three said yes! They were all very willing and I am so excited that I got to share with three great people what the KAY club is. These are moments we live for.
Jhett's Pizza, likely the best pizza place on the planet, is sporting a peanut butter jar sans lid at the moment on their cool, metal counter. If you don't already want to eat great pizza, this is a great, great reason to visit. Hotspot, a crafty, jazzy coffee joint with FREE WIFI is sporting a carob powder jar WITH a lid. They have great smoothies, coffee, tea, atmosphere, etc. It's a great place to eat your pizza and get something great to eat. Who knows, maybe you'll donate your change to the socks of love campaign. ;) Last, but certainly not least, The Beck Bookman Library is sporting a quaker oatmeal jar. This jar, if you are interested, also has a lid. The library is the best place to get a book, plus it smells good. So if you have overdue books, feel free to drop a nickel or so into our jar when you visit.
The Karate Studio, for all of you martial artists, also has a jar for Socks of Love! They have a new after school class starting at 3:15(ish) and ending at 4:45 on Thursdays, or a regular class starting at 6:00 PM on Thursdays. You can find me there, too!! So, if you're needing to do some jumping jacks and double roundhouse kicks, feel free to drop in and drop some change into our jar!!
We are so thankful for the wonderful support we have received from the community this far!! We are halfway funded for our project and we still can't wait to get started!
