Oh, my goodness! For all the ten (or less) of you who actually read these right now, you share in my excitement at the AWESOME progress we have made on our fundraising goal. Yesterday, there was a meeting at the karate studio and we discussed some more details in regards to the 'Socks of Love' campaign.
Unfortunately, none of the board members were able to attend the meeting. Our two new, and quite lovely, members, Chelsea and Brooklyn (quite the pair, indeed!) acted as board members yesterday teaming up with me to make great, executive decisions. Here's what we came up with:
1.) The care-packages are going to the Topeka Rescue Mission.
2.) The items placed in the socks will be determined based on the 'needs list' on the TRM's website.
3.) Jars for donations will be placed in a few locations around town and a 'door-to-door' approach is still being discussed.
We are so excited to have received the support and blessing of the community and we absolutely cannot wait to begin to give back!!
